Trust Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, available as a mobile app and a browser extension. There is no charge to install it or to hold assets in it. Trust Wallet states its in-app swap fee is 0%; that cost is not itemized separately but embedded in the exchange rate shown before you confirm, so it needs to be checked in the spread rather than in a fee line. In our test, swapping 100 USDT to ETH cost approximately 0.85% all in.
Trust Wallet covers Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron and Monero natively, alongside more than 100 blockchains in total — a wider native footprint than EVM-only wallets, and unlike wallets such as Rabby that either omit several of these networks or require a second wallet to hold them. Card purchases route through third-party providers; Trust Wallet's own mark-up on that purchase is 1%, on top of whatever the provider itself charges.

We installed the Chrome extension, created a wallet from scratch, received and sent funds, ran a swap, and restored the wallet on a clean browser profile. We also read the Terms of Service, the Privacy Notice, the published security page, and the audit reports Trust Wallet links to.
We did not install the mobile app, connect a Ledger device, trade perpetuals, use prediction markets, or time the support team. Everything below about the mobile app or about platforms we did not install comes from Trust Wallet's own published materials rather than from our own use, and is labeled as such.

Most reviews treat a wallet as one product with two icons. With Trust Wallet that undersells a real difference: every security incident we found in researching this review happened on the browser extension, and none has been reported on mobile in the same period.

This does not mean the extension is unsafe to use. It means the extension has absorbed nearly all of Trust Wallet's documented incident history, and that balance should inform how much value you keep there versus on mobile.
Installation runs in the browser and takes a few minutes. The seed phrase backup step cannot be redone later, so read it before you start.
Install from the Chrome Web Store, reachable from trustwallet.com. Confirm the publisher and review count before installing, rather than trusting the first search result.

Choose to create a new wallet, or import an existing seed phrase or private key. Trust Wallet's seed phrase is BIP39-compatible, so an imported wallet's addresses, balances and history stay as they were.
The password unlocks Trust Wallet on this device only. Trust Wallet's Terms of Service state it does not store this password and cannot reset it if forgotten; the seed phrase is the only way back in.
Trust Wallet generates twelve words and asks you to confirm them. Anyone who reads them controls the wallet, on any device, without your password.
Once setup completes, the interface shows the current balance, Send, Swap and Fund buttons, Crypto NFTs, and Approvals tabs, as well as the app menu.
The Receive screen shows a warning about the risk of losing assets due to a wrong network, which network is preselected, a QR code, and the address.

The confirmation screen shows the preselected network, but a wrong-network warning does not appear. Also, fees are not disclosed.
Trust Wallet routes swaps through third-party decentralized exchanges rather than holding its own liquidity. Its Terms of Service state that Trust Wallet does not control or guarantee the accuracy of the rate or fee information these third parties display.
The Swap button is available on the Home screen of the extension.
Users can pick a network from a drop-down list or type in the needed ticker.
Trust Wallet states its own swap fee is 0%. The DEX-side spread is included in the exchange rate shown on this screen rather than itemized as a separate charge — this is the screen to compare against the market rate, not a fee field elsewhere in the flow.

On our 100 USDT test swap, Trust Wallet displayed a warning before the confirmation step: "(-66.057%) High price impact — you may receive much less than expected." At face value, that figure means completing the trade at the quoted route would have returned roughly half the value of the amount sent. We did not have a way to confirm from inside the app whether this reflected genuinely thin liquidity on that specific route, a stale or miscalculated rate, or an application-side issue — Trust Wallet's interface states the risk without explaining its cause.

Step 5. Confirm and sign
A follow-up swap on the USDT-to-ETH pair carried no price-impact warning and completed normally. Trust Wallet's confirmation screen showed an estimated fee of $0.15 before signing.

Card purchases in Trust Wallet are handled by third-party on-ramp providers. Trust Wallet's own mark-up on this transaction is 1%, on top of the exchange rate and any fee the provider itself charges. Its Terms of Service state that Trust Wallet cannot revise, cancel, or take responsibility for a submitted purchase once it has been sent to the provider.
A user can pick an on-ramp service from a drop-down list, and the app marks a provider with the best quote.

After a user selects the provider, fills in the sum, and clicks Continue, they are transferred to a third-party website.
Trust Wallet natively supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron, alongside more than 100 blockchains. Token standards and additional assets are added on an ongoing basis. The actual number of supported networks visible in the extension is 109.

Trust Wallet has grown well past storing and sending crypto. Its own site lists nine feature areas in its main navigation beyond the base wallet: swaps, staking, NFTs, security, buy crypto, SWIFT, RWAs, perpetual futures and prediction markets. The sections below cover what each does and, where relevant, who actually operates it.
Trust Wallet lets you deposit supported assets with a validator and earn network-issued rewards directly in the app, with an estimated APR shown before you commit.
For example, a 2.52% APR is offered for ETH staking.

Trust Wallet supports viewing, sending and receiving NFTs across the chains it covers, alongside a spam-filtering option that lets you hide and report unwanted or fraudulent NFTs sent to your address.
Trust Premium is a loyalty tier built around holding or locking TWT, Trust Wallet's own token. Trust Wallet states that depending on tier, it can unlock gas-fee discounts when paying in TWT, swap-fee discounts, and selected buy-fee discounts. Since November 2025, TWT holders have also been able to vote on protocol changes through a token holder governance process that Trust Wallet describes as independent of Binance's BNB Chain.
Security Scanner
Trust Wallet Status is a risk-monitoring layer that flags potentially malicious transactions and dApp connections before you sign, running across the features above as well as ordinary sends and swaps. Trust Wallet's 2025 year-end report states the Scanner flagged over $191 million in potentially harmful transactions and helped recover $260,000 in stolen funds during the year — figures Trust Wallet reports about its own product rather than figures verified by an outside party.

Trust Wallet's Wallet Core — the library that handles key generation, address derivation and transaction signing — is published as open source in its GitHub organization. The browser extension and the mobile app built on top of that library are closed source.
Trust Wallet states it undergoes audits from several firms on a rolling basis, including CertiK, Cure53, Halborn, Kudelski and Quantstamp. The most recent audit we found referenced by version was a Halborn smart contract audit of the swap feature, dated April 2025. Trust Wallet also holds ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certification and runs a public bug bounty program.

The December 2025 incident is the largest and most recent: a supply-chain attack exposed Trust Wallet's developer credentials, which were then used to publish a compromised extension update outside Trust Wallet's normal release process. Anyone who unlocked the wallet on the affected version had their seed phrase exposed. Trust Wallet stated the mobile app was not affected. Reimbursement for affected users was in progress as of the following month, handled on a case-by-case basis.
Creating a wallet requires no name or email address. Trust Wallet's Privacy Notice, last updated October 22, 2025, states that wallet private keys and addresses are stored locally and not collected by Trust Wallet.
What Trust Wallet does collect: public transaction history from the blockchain, device and usage information (model, operating system, app version), and — for website and support interactions rather than wallet use — contact details you choose to provide. The Notice states IP addresses are used only transiently for traffic routing and are not stored.
We removed the extension and restored it in a clean browser profile using the seed phrase. As a result, the wallet was restored successfully. The Ethereum and Bitcoin addresses generated on restore matched the original addresses exactly, confirming the seed phrase reproduces the same accounts rather than a different derivation path.
A related display issue surfaced: at one point the app's USDT balance stopped showing correctly, even though the address and underlying funds were unaffected.
Where the interface confused us
Trust Wallet is one of the few wallets in this series that manages all four from a single seed phrase. An EVM-only wallet such as Rabby would leave Bitcoin, Solana and Tron stranded in a second app; Trust Wallet's recovery testing above confirmed the same seed phrase reproduces matching Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses on restore, so this isn't just an advertised feature.
The purchase itself is still handled by a third-party provider, and Trust Wallet adds a 1% mark-up on top of whatever that provider charges, but the flow stays inside the app rather than redirecting you to an external exchange first.
Least suited here. Every documented security incident in this review — most recently the December 2025 supply-chain compromise that cost $8.5 million across 2,520 addresses — happened on the extension, with none reported on mobile in the same period. If an extension is how you plan to use Trust Wallet, treat it as an active-use tool for smaller amounts rather than long-term storage, and consider pairing it with the Ledger integration rather than a software-only setup.
Only the Wallet Core library is actually published openly, and the extension and mobile app are closed source. If verifiable, fully open code matters to how you choose a wallet, Trust Wallet does not currently meet that bar.
