Paris Saint-Germain Fan Token Fundamental Analysis
Paris Saint-Germain Fan Token (PSG) is a token issued by the French football (soccer) club Paris Saint-Germain, designed to enrich fans’ interaction with the club. PSG coin was launched in early 2020.
PSG Fan Token launch is a part of a growing movement supported by many sports clubs, which allows the holders of their tokens to vote in polls put out by the team, influence some decisions, get exclusive gifts, and have closer access to players, etc. Those tokens are usually offered through a specialized platform — Socios.com, on their blockchain called Chiliz. PSG coin was one of the pioneering tokens on the platform, which by August 2021 has more than 50 fan tokens listed. The club’s officials signed a multi-year partnership with Socios.com, which signals that PSG’s crypto involvement will probably continue for a while.
PSG tokens can be bought on major exchanges, like most of the crypto out there, but they can also be acquired through other means, unique to the fan token projects on Socios.com. Fans can hunt for the tokens by participating in games in the platform’s app or earn them as rewards for interacting with their team. Those mechanics incentivize fans’ engagement and bring some fun into the tokenomics.

The first serious spike in PSG price happened in December 2020 after its Binance listing, when it jumped from ~$10 to almost $30, but it returned to the previous level shortly. In the first half of 2021, it started climbing again, following the general crypto market movement. PSG’s price reached ~$59 in April, but note that the PSG token price prediction at that point could easily be made by reading a classic head-and-shoulders pattern on the chart: after going through the second “shoulder” in May, the token’s price tumbled down towards $12–$16.
The tide turned in the late summer of 2021 when the news of Lionel Messi's upcoming transfer to Paris Saint-Germain football club hit the press, including the fact that a part of his signing-on fee is going to be paid in PSG tokens. This was enough for the PSG’s price to soar, reaching the all-time high on August 10, when the price hit ~$61, which made PSG token a serious contender in the crypto space, as the token is now at #318 by market cap. At this point, though, PSG Fan Token is very volatile, so PSG price predictions are up in the air for now.
