What is Quant?

Quant Network is a blockchain-based platform that aims to facilitate interoperability and connectivity between different blockchain networks and traditional financial systems. It seeks to overcome the problem of siloed blockchains by providing a framework for seamless communication and exchange of digital assets across various blockchain protocols.

Quant Network was founded by Gilbert Verdian in 2016. Gilbert Verdian is a cybersecurity and blockchain expert with extensive experience in the financial industry. He previously held positions such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Vocalink/Mastercard and Head of Cybersecurity Risk at the UK Government.

The motivation behind founding Quant Network was to address the interoperability and connectivity challenges within the blockchain ecosystem. Verdian recognized that the proliferation of different blockchain networks and protocols was creating a fragmented landscape, limiting the potential of blockchain technology. He saw the need for a solution that could enable seamless communication and interaction between disparate blockchain networks as well as traditional financial systems.

Quant Network's goal is to provide an infrastructure that facilitates cross-chain interoperability, allowing various blockchains to work together efficiently and securely. By developing technology and protocols like Overledger, Quant Network aims to enable the transfer of digital assets and data across different blockchain platforms, creating a unified ecosystem.

Since its founding, Quant Network has garnered attention and recognition for its efforts in blockchain interoperability. The company has attracted partnerships with organizations such as SIA, the European payments infrastructure provider, and has been involved in initiatives like the European Union Blockchain Observatory and Forum.

Quant Network employs various security measures to ensure the protection of its platform and the data it handles. Encryption is used to secure data as it’s being transmitted over the network and while at rest. Strong encryption algorithms are employed to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access. Access controls are implemented to restrict access to the platform and its components. Role-based access control (RBAC) mechanisms are often utilized to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to specific resources.

Quant Network follows secure coding practices to minimize vulnerabilities in its software. This includes regular code reviews, adherence to coding standards, and vulnerability testing. Regular penetration testing and security audits are conducted to identify vulnerabilities and address any potential weaknesses in the platform. This helps to proactively identify and rectify security flaws.

Quant Network collaborates with established cybersecurity firms to perform independent audits and assessments, ensuring the robustness of their security measures.

According to the latest news, Quant recently made headlines as it became a participant in a newly approved working group focused on developing a groundbreaking internet protocol. This protocol aims to enhance the security of digital asset transfers and promote interoperability among distributed ledger technology (DLT) networks.

The working group, which includes esteemed organizations like MIT, IBM, and EY, was formed under the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) following the submission of a charter proposed by Quant. Their collective efforts will be channeled toward the creation of the Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP) as a new technical standard for the Internet.

The SATP will play a crucial role in enabling secure and seamless asset transfers across diverse DLT networks. To achieve this, the protocol aims to establish standardized communication mechanisms between these networks while ensuring the security of transactions taking place across them.

This development underscores Quant's commitment to advancing the field of blockchain and finance by actively contributing to the establishment of industry standards. By participating in this working group, Quant demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the security and interoperability of digital asset transfers, fostering a more connected and efficient ecosystem for blockchain technology as a whole.

The QNT token is the native cryptocurrency of the Quant Network platform. It serves various utilities within the ecosystem. QNT tokens may be required to access and utilize certain features, services, or functionalities within the Quant Network platform.QNT token holders may have the ability to participate in network governance processes, such as voting on protocol upgrades, proposals, or changes to the platform. QNT tokens might be used to pay for transaction fees incurred when utilizing the Quant Network platform or its associated services.

The total supply of the QNT tokens is 14,881,364 with 12,072,738 QNT in the current circulation.

Average Fees on Quant
