What is Contentos?

Contentos is a blockchain-based decentralized content ecosystem that aims to provide a platform for creators, influencers, and users to interact and engage with digital content. It focuses on addressing various challenges in the content industry such as content monetization, copyright protection, and user engagement. 

Contentos was founded by Mick Tsai in 2018. Mick Tsai is a serial entrepreneur with experience in the technology and gaming industries. He co-founded Contentos with the goal of creating a decentralized content ecosystem that addresses the challenges faced by content creators and consumers in the digital content space. The project aimed to leverage blockchain technology to provide solutions for content monetization, copyright protection, and user engagement.

Contentos's initial development and launch occurred around 2018-2019, and the project has since evolved and continued to develop its platform and ecosystem. 

Contentos utilizes its own blockchain infrastructure to facilitate transactions, content distribution, and governance. It's designed to handle a high number of transactions and interactions efficiently. 

Contentos uses a delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism. In DPoS, token holders vote to select a set of "delegates" who are responsible for validating transactions and maintaining the blockchain. This mechanism is known for its energy efficiency and scalability compared to traditional proof-of-work systems.

The platform allows creators to earn rewards directly from their content through mechanisms like tips, subscriptions, and advertising revenue. This enables creators to have more control over their content and its monetization. The blockchain infrastructure facilitates the distribution of digital content, ensuring that content creators receive proper attribution and rewards for their work. Contentos also supports smart contracts.

Contentos incorporates features to protect copyright and intellectual property rights. By utilizing blockchain's immutability and transparency, the platform aims to prevent unauthorized use of content and ensure proper attribution.

Users who actively engage with content by commenting, liking, and sharing can also be rewarded with tokens. This incentivizes user participation and interaction within the ecosystem.

Contentos collaborates with various content platforms and partners to integrate its blockchain technology. This allows existing content platforms to utilize Contentos's features and benefits without necessarily building a new platform from scratch.

Contentos's core features:

• Content Copyright Tracking: Contentos's public blockchain meticulously logs the entire lifecycle of content creation. Community members can easily verify ownership, track the generation process, and explore the transaction history of any creation.
• User Trustworthiness: The user credibility system on Contentos's blockchain permanently stores user credentials in the public ledger, fostering a system of accountability for all user actions.
• Smart Contract Integration: Through its Contentos Virtual Machine (CVM), the public chain of Contentos seamlessly incorporates smart contracts, enabling automated and secure execution of contractual agreements.
• Innovative Storage: In the future, Contentos's blockchain will support diverse content storage formats, providing an avenue for content storage in exchange for COS tokens.

The native cryptocurrency of the Contentos platform is called COS. It's used for various functions within the ecosystem. Content creators can earn COS tokens as rewards for their content, providing them with a way to monetize their work directly from their audience. Users who engage with content by liking, commenting, sharing, and participating in the platform can also earn COS tokens as rewards. COS tokens can be used to access premium or exclusive content within the Contentos ecosystem. COS tokens may also play a role in the governance of the platform, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes.

COS token is built on both the BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) platform and the Ethereum blockchain. At present, Contentos has a total supply of 9,918,149,550.6 tokens, out of which 4,160,904,880.3264613 tokens are currently in circulation.

COS token was distributed in the following manner: 

• 9.5% went to the strategic sale
• 11.32% went to the seed sale
• 15% was awarded to the Contentos team
• 0.5% was awarded to advisors
• 18.68% went to the foundation reserve
• 5% went to the app jumpstart reward reserve
• 35% went to the ecosystem reward reserve
• 3.5% went to the community development reserve
• 1.5% went to the token treasury

The average fees on the Contentos network

As Contentos build on top of the existing Layer-1 blockhains, the fees will depend on the network congestion and the gas price on Ethereum or Binance Beacon Chain. 

Also, the fee may vary depending on the platform used for depositing, withdrawing, and transacting the COZ tokens.
