Technically, Celo is a peer-to-peer mobile finance application that enables users to make and receive payments, check cryptocurrency balances, track market prices, and start investing in the crypto market. Celo is designed to provide scalability, faster transactions, and lower fees. The development team ensures its ecosystem is open, transparent and trustworthy. The Celo network is designed to be highly scalable. It can handle up to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) and has low transaction fees. 

The Celo app and Celo platform will allow anyone to buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies, as well as send and receive payments in currencies. The goal of Celo is to make cryptocurrency as easy to use as Venmo, PayPal, or Apple Pay by integrating cryptocurrency into mobile messaging apps.

The Celo Coin is the base currency for Celo. It is what users will use to make purchases in the Celo marketplace. The token has a capped supply of 1 billion tokens with over 473 million tokens in the current circulation. 

The platform also offers a token called the Celo Dollar (cUSD). cUSD is a stablecoin that is pegged to the US dollar. The Celo Dollar is backed by a reserve of other assets, including fiat currencies, crypto assets, and commodities. 

The Celo platform also has its own governance token, called the Celo Gold (cGLD). cGLD holders can vote on platform decisions, such as which assets to include in the cUSD reserve or what fees to charge for transactions. 

Average Fees on the Celo Network 

The average fees on the Celo network are fluctuating constantly, rising and falling with the ebb and flow of transaction activity. They can be seen as small, flickering dots on a graph or a line chart, moving steadily higher or lower depending on the current state of the network. On average users have to pay around 0.1% of the amount for a transaction.
