What is Cosmos Crypto?

The Cosmos network was launched by a team of developers led by Jae Kwon. The project was initiated by Tendermint Inc., a blockchain development company co-founded by Jae Kwon. While Jae Kwon played a prominent role as the founder and leader of Tendermint Inc., the company behind Cosmos, there were other key contributors involved in various aspects of the project.
Ethan Buchman is another co-founder of Tendermint and was involved in the development of the Tendermint consensus algorithm, which is a critical component of the Cosmos network.
Although Kwon is still listed as principal architect, he stepped down as CEO in 2020. He maintains he is still a part of the project but is mainly focusing on other initiatives. The Tendermint consensus algorithm possesses a characteristic known as instant finality. It means that as long as over one-third of the validators remain honest (byzantine), forks in the blockchain never occur.
