Exodus एक non-custodial software wallet है, जो desktop, mobile और browser के लिए बनाया गया है, और एक publicly traded company: Exodus Movement, Inc. द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। यह NYSE American पर EXOD ticker से ट्रेड करती है, जिससे यह एक SEC-reporting company बनती है। इसे इंस्टॉल करने या इसमें assets रखने के लिए कोई शुल्क नहीं है। हमारे test में, ETH को swap करना USDT में (लगभग $100 के equivalent) market rate के मुकाबले 0.98% पड़ा, जिसमें network fee भी शामिल थी।

Wallet का core application closed source है, और किसी third-party firm ने इसका security audit प्रकाशित नहीं किया है। Exodus swap confirm होने से पहले network fee भी नहीं दिखाता, और swap पूरा होने पर transaction hash या block-explorer link भी नहीं दिखाता; असली cost verify करने के लिए हमें transaction खुद Etherscan पर ढूँढना पड़ा।

Test passport

इस review का हर number Windows desktop app पर एक ही hands-on session से आया है। Existing wallet को restore करना first-time setup की जगह इस्तेमाल किया गया; हमने wallet scratch से create नहीं किया, इसलिए seed-phrase generation और initial backup flow यहाँ शामिल नहीं हैं।

हमने क्या test किया, और क्या नहीं किया

हमने Windows पर Exodus desktop app install किया, उस install पर recovery phrase से existing wallet restore किया, Portfolio, Wallet, Swap, Send और Receive screens देखीं, ETH से USDT के लिए एक $100 swap चलाया, और resulting transaction को Etherscan पर ढूँढा। हमने Support section भी खोला और note किया कि उसमें कौन-कौन से contact options हैं।

हमने mobile app, browser extension, hardware-wallet pairing, staking, NFTs, या fiat card purchase test नहीं किया। नीचे mobile app और browser extension के बारे में जो भी है, वह Exodus की अपनी documentation से लिया गया है, hands-on use से नहीं, और उसी तरह label किया गया है।

Exodus एक नजर में

Fees

Exodus की Terms of Use सीधे कहती हैं कि कंपनी Software या Exodus Pay Service के उपयोग के लिए कोई fee नहीं लेती, और network (gas) fees तथा third-party charges user की जिम्मेदारी हैं और Exodus को नहीं जातीं।

Swap fees सीधे disclose नहीं की जातीं, बल्कि spread में शामिल होती हैं। Fiat purchases third-party providers (MoonPay, Banxa, PayPal, Robinhood Connect, और Coinme-powered नया XO Pay) के जरिए जाती हैं, जिनकी fees, limits और KYC requirements provider तय करता है, Exodus नहीं।  

Exodus सेट करना

Windows के लिए Exodus desktop app डाउनलोड और install करना Exodus Download webpage से एक मिनट से कम में हो गया।

Step 1. Download and install

अपने platform के लिए app exodus.com से डाउनलोड करें, या browser use के लिए Chrome Web Store से Exodus Web3 Wallet extension install करें।  

Step 2. Create a new wallet

App खोलें और Create New Wallet चुनें।

Step 3. Back up the recovery phrase

Exodus 12-word recovery phrase बनाता है और उसे एक बार दिखाता है।  

Step 4. Set a password

एक password उस device पर wallet को protect करता है। यह backup नहीं बल्कि local unlock mechanism है — password और recovery phrase दोनों खो देने का मतलब access खो देना है।

Step 5. Optional: PIN or biometric lock

App अतिरिक्त device-level protection layer के रूप में optional 6-digit PIN या biometric unlock (fingerprint या face) देता है, जो password से अलग है।

Wallet restore करना: interface ने क्या दिखाया

Existing wallet को उसकी recovery seed phrase से restore करना भी एक मिनट से कम में हो गया। प्रक्रिया के दौरान app ने warning दिखाई कि sync होते समय balances अस्थायी रूप से गलत हो सकते हैं। Restoration पूरा होने के बाद wallet addresses match हुए और balance सही दिखा।

Setup के बाद start screen portfolio के total balance का USD में circular chart दिखाती है। Main navigation में Portfolio, Wallet, Swap, Buy and Sell, Staking, और NFTs शामिल हैं, जबकि History, Support और Settings अलग buttons के रूप में हैं।

Sending और receiving

Send screen network, address field, भेजी जाने वाली amount को selected asset और USD दोनों में, maximum network fee, और transaction के बाद बची हुई balance दिखाती है।

Exodus में swap कैसे करें

Step 1. Swap खोलें

पहले swap से पहले, Exodus चार onboarding screens दिखाता है जिनमें asset selection, transaction speed, और one-click shortcuts कवर होते हैं। इन्हें dismiss करने के बाद, और इस disclosure पर स्पष्ट consent देने के बाद कि swap services Exodus स्वयं नहीं बल्कि third-party providers द्वारा दी जाती हैं, swap screen उपलब्ध होती है।

Step 2. Tokens और network चुनें

Users drop-down list से network चुन सकते हैं या ज़रूरी ticker टाइप कर सकते हैं। 

Step 3. Amount डालें और rate review करें

Exodus wallet fee नहीं दिखाता, सिर्फ receive होने वाली amount दिखाता है। 

Step 4. Swap पर click करें

Swap button पर click करके swapping proceed करें।

Exodus Wallet में swap की असली cost क्या थी

हमने 0.0531 ETH — जो test के समय available market rate पर $100 के बराबर थी — को Ethereum पर USDT में, 13 अगस्त 2026 को 09:15 UTC पर swap किया। 

Exodus ने swap confirm करने से पहले estimated network fee नहीं दिखाई; fee सिर्फ बाद में Etherscan पर दिखी। Exodus के अंदर quoted exchange rate 1,867.153 USD per ETH था, जबकि उसी समय TradingView पर market rate 1,883.1 USD per ETH था — लगभग 0.85% का gap, जो swap cost का बड़ा हिस्सा है, अलग से labeled fee नहीं।

Exodus ने estimate किया कि हमें 99.1458 USDT मिलेंगे। हमें वास्तव में 99.1208 USDT मिले, यानी estimate से लगभग एक quarter cent कम। Confirm करने के बाद app ने दिखाया कि swap 15 मिनट या उससे कम में होगा; यह लगभग 3 मिनट में पूरा हो गया। Completion screen पर सिर्फ received amount दिखा — transaction hash नहीं और block explorer का link नहीं।

हमने transaction खुद Etherscan पर ढूँढा, जहाँ network fee 0.000059 ETH (लगभग $0.11) और gas price 0.1325 Gwei दिखी।

यह एक दिन का एक swap है, average नहीं। Rate gap और network fee दोनों market conditions और congestion के साथ बदलते हैं; नीचे दिए गए percentage को Exodus की स्थायी price नहीं, बल्कि एक single data point समझें।

क्या आप Exodus में card से crypto खरीद सकते हैं?

इस session में test नहीं किया गया। Exodus की अपनी marketing और documentation fiat purchases को third-party providers के जरिए route होने के रूप में बताती हैं — MoonPay, Banxa, PayPal और Robinhood Connect को secondary sources में नामित किया गया है, साथ में XO Pay नाम का नया in-house option भी है, जो identity verification के लिए Coinme और card processing के लिए Worldpay के साथ बनाया गया है।

Wallet से आगे: cards, payments और tokenized shares

Core wallet functions के बाहर Exodus की surface area और भी है। दो products storage और trading से आगे जाते हैं। Exodus Card और Exodus Pay user को debit card से crypto-backed balances spend करने और cashback कमाने देते हैं। अन्य features में शामिल हैं:

   • XO Ramp — Coinme के साथ बनाया गया in-house fiat on-ramp, जो KYC/compliance और crypto-as-a-service partner है, तथा card processing के लिए Worldpay के साथ। Exodus merchant of record है। Eligible users के लिए इसे instant KYC के रूप में marketed किया गया है, बिना ID upload या liveness selfie के।

    • Stake and Earn — users को अपनी self custody wallet से सीधे supported cryptocurrencies stake करके rewards कमाने देता है। Users कई staked assets और rewards को एक जगह manage कर सकते हैं, और चुनिंदा assets के लिए automatic restaking उपलब्ध है। APY asset और network conditions के अनुसार बदलता है।

    • Wallet-as-a-Service — partners के लिए business-facing toolkit, जिससे वे Exodus wallet infrastructure embed कर सकते हैं, और इसका अपना fee/revenue-share model है। Individual-user review के दायरे से बाहर है, लेकिन completeness के लिए एक line का उल्लेख जरूरी है।

Supported networks और assets

Exodus 50+ blockchain networks पर cryptocurrencies और tokens की व्यापक range support करता है। इसमें native assets जैसे Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), और TRON (TRX), साथ ही supported Web3 networks पर जारी tokens भी शामिल हैं।

इसके asset coverage का एक अहम हिस्सा custom token support है। अगर कोई token default रूप से Exodus में नहीं दिखता, तो supported networks पर user उसे manually add कर सकता है।  

Asset availability network के हिसाब से organized है। Users Mobile, Desktop और Web3 Wallet पर blockchain के अनुसार अपने wallet को filter करके देख सकते हैं कि किसी particular network पर कौन-कौन से assets उपलब्ध हैं। 

Exodus hardware wallets के साथ भी integrate करता है, हालांकि उनका asset coverage main Exodus wallet से अलग है। Trezor support asset और device model पर निर्भर करता है। उदाहरण के लिए, Cardano और XRP Model T, Safe 3, और Safe 5 के जरिए supported हैं, लेकिन Model One पर नहीं। Trezor integration custom Ethereum tokens को भी support करता है।

आप खुद क्या verify कर सकते हैं

Exodus का core wallet application — जो keys generate करता है और transactions sign करता है — closed source है। Exodus कई supporting libraries और SDKs (asset libraries, Hydra नाम का cross-platform wallet framework, एक cryptography primitives library) ExodusOSS GitHub organization के तहत individual licenses के साथ publish करता है, लेकिन यह application itself तक नहीं फैलता।

Exodus wallet की किसी third-party firm की audit report नहीं मिली। Exodus का अपना security page release से पहले open-source dependencies पर लागू होने वाली manual, internal audit process का वर्णन करता है, साथ ही HackerOne के जरिए चलने वाला bug bounty program भी। यह Rabby, Trust Wallet और Atomic Wallet से अलग verification profile है, जिनमें से हर एक के public record में किसी named audit firm की कम-से-कम एक dated report है।

पिछली घटनाएँ

Research में चार घटनाएँ सामने आईं। वे अपने स्वरूप में काफी अलग हैं — wallet-software patch, device-level supply-chain attack, corporate data breach, और regulatory settlement — इसलिए इन्हें एक ही "security history" line में मिला देना हर घटना को गलत तरीके से पेश करेगा।

इंटरफेस ने हमें कहाँ भ्रमित किया

• Swap completion screen सिर्फ received amount दिखाती है। वहाँ transaction hash नहीं है और block explorer link नहीं है, इसलिए यह verify करना कि swap ने वास्तव में क्या किया — और gas में कितनी cost आई — हमें transaction को Etherscan पर manually ढूँढकर करना पड़ा।
• Swap की estimated network fee हमें confirm करने से पहले नहीं दिखाई गई, सिर्फ estimated receive amount दिखाई गई। Fee खुद बाद में, ऊपर दिए गए explorer lookup से visible हुई।
• इस session के दौरान app में कहीं भी second wallet add करने या existing wallet delete करने का विकल्प नहीं मिला। अगर इनमें से कुछ मौजूद है, तो वह Settings, Wallet, या Support में ऐसे नहीं दिखा कि हमें मिल सके। एक Help Center article सलाह देता है कि wallet data folder को device से manually delete करें ताकि wallet पूरी तरह remove हो सके। 

Recovery test

हमने app का previous install से connection हटाया और Windows desktop app के fresh install पर existing 12-word recovery phrase से wallet restore किया।

• Addresses matched: Yes
• Balance displayed correctly: Yes

Restoration में एक मिनट से कम लगा, और on-screen warning ने बताया कि wallet के network sync होते समय balances थोड़ी देर के लिए गलत हो सकते हैं। इस test में existing wallet इस्तेमाल किया गया, न कि इस review के लिए fresh बनाया गया wallet, इसलिए यह seed-phrase generation और initial backup flow को cover नहीं करता जो नया user देखेगा; वह अभी भी untested है।

Support

टेस्ट किए गए desktop app में Human support messaging option और एक घंटे से कम की estimated response time दिखाई देती है। यह response-time figure app का अपना stated message है, न कि हमने independently मापा हुआ समय, क्योंकि testing के समय chat button वास्तव में active नहीं था।

Strengths और limitations

ऊपर की सारी बातों को एक जगह समेटते हुए, इससे पहले कि हम देखें कि Exodus किसके लिए उपयुक्त है और और क्या विचार करने लायक है।

Strengths

   • Clean-install recovery ने test किए गए addresses और balance को एक मिनट से कम में reproduce किया।

   • एक broader visible feature set: swap, buy and sell, staking, NFTs, और card/payments product — सभी के working entry points tested interface में थे, केवल घोषित होकर गायब नहीं।

   • App के भीतर live human-support chat option मिला।

   • Exodus Movement, Inc. एक publicly traded, SEC-reporting company है (NYSE American: EXOD) 

Limitations

   • Core application closed source है, और कोई published third-party security audit नहीं मिला।

    • Swap के लिए network fee confirm करने से पहले नहीं दिखाई गई, और completion screen पर transaction hash या block-explorer link नहीं था।

    • इस test के दौरान app में second wallet add करने या existing wallet delete करने का विकल्प कहीं नहीं मिला।

    • Supported assets, staking और transaction capabilities device के अनुसार बदलती हैं

Exodus को आपकी crypto usage से मिलाना

अगर आप desktop और mobile पर एक ही interface चाहते हैं, hardware pairing के साथ

Exodus इसे सीधे cover करता है, documentation के अनुसार desktop पर Trezor और mobile पर Ledger के साथ। इसकी कीमत ऊपर मापी गई swap cost और closed core application है।

अगर आप चल रहे code को verify करना चाहते हैं

Exodus इसके लिए wallet नहीं है। Application खुद closed source है, और कोई third-party audit report नहीं मिली।  

अगर आप wallet के साथ card और payments features चाहते हैं

Exodus Card और Exodus Pay Exodus के लिए unique हैं, इसके 2026 में Monavate और Baanx के acquisition के बाद। जो कोई विशेष रूप से इस feature पर विचार कर रहा है, उसे उस litigation को भी देखना चाहिए जिसे Exodus ने इस acquisition के financing तरीके के बारे में disclose किया है।

Final verdict

Exodus का केंद्रीय दावा — कि यह सचमुच non-custodial है और user के funds move नहीं कर सकता — इस review के एक hands-on test में सही निकला: restored wallet ने बिना किसी incident के सही addresses और सही balance दिखाया। Closed-source core application का कोई third-party security audit प्रकाशित नहीं हुआ है। यहाँ measured एकल swap अपेक्षाकृत महँगा पड़ा, और app ने यह cost block explorer पर manual lookup के बिना उजागर नहीं की।

इसके सामने एक व्यापक working feature set, live support channel, और corporate financial disclosure का वह स्तर है जो Exodus Movement के publicly traded होने से आता है, private company होने से नहीं। इनमें से कोई भी एक संख्या में नहीं समाता: इनमें से कौन-सा निष्कर्ष सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है, यह इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि reader verifiable code, swap cost, feature breadth, या SEC में file करने वाली company की reassurance के लिए optimize कर रहा है।  

Alternatives

• Rabby — अगर केवल EVM coverage स्वीकार्य है। Rabby का extension code open source है और उसके दो published audits हैं। Rabby में Bitcoin, Solana या Tron support नहीं है, और कोई card product भी नहीं है।

Rabby pre-signature simulation भी चलाता है जो user के sign करने से पहले दिखाता है कि transaction असल में क्या करेगा, जबकि Exodus के tested flow में ऐसा screen नहीं है; Exodus में इसका सबसे करीब वाला equivalent first swap से पहले एक बार दिखाई गई third-party swap disclosure थी। Rabby के extension में कोई fiat on-ramp नहीं है, इसलिए यह XO Pay और इसके third-party providers के साथ Exodus की तरह first wallet नहीं बन सकता, और Exodus Card जैसा कोई card product भी नहीं है।

• Trust Wallet — व्यापक asset coverage जो Exodus के ज्यादा करीब दिखता है: Bitcoin, Solana और Tron, EVM assets के साथ, और इसमें app के भीतर card on-ramp भी है, जो भावना में Exodus Card जैसा है। फर्क यह है कि Trust Wallet का browser extension multi-incident security history के साथ आता है।  
• Atomic Wallet — scope में Exodus के करीब (multi-asset, in-app swap, staking) लेकिन 2023 के बड़े exploit का documented इतिहास है। Support और account management में, दोनों wallets एक limitation साझा करते हैं जो इस review ने Exodus में भी पाई: Atomic में wallet-deletion feature नहीं है, सिर्फ log-out है, जो इस review को Exodus के own interface में भी missing add/delete option की तरह मिला। Atomic का support email-only है, live chat के बिना जो इस review ने Exodus में पाया।

Frequently asked questions

क्या Exodus सुरक्षित है?

एक non-custodial wallet के रूप में, Exodus कहता है कि वह funds तक पहुँच नहीं सकता या उन्हें move नहीं कर सकता। Research में मिले incidents में wallet की अपनी architecture के खिलाफ कोई documented breach नहीं था; सबसे निकट का incident, browser extension में 2022 का local-caching bug, patch कर दिया गया था और self-disclosed था। Company को खुद एक data breach और एक OFAC sanctions settlement का सामना करना पड़ा, जो दोनों compliance और corporate matters हैं, wallet-security failures नहीं।

क्या Exodus Wallet non-custodial है?
