Voyager Digital Ltd. was founded in 2017 by Stephen Ehrlich, Oscar Salazar, and Philip Eytan. Stephen Ehrlich, the CEO, had had extensive experience in the financial industry, having previously worked as the CEO and founder of Lightspeed Financial, a brokerage firm.

Voyager also partnered with Market Rebellion, a financial media and education company, to integrate their Smart Order Routing technology into the Voyager platform. This partnership aimed to improve the execution of cryptocurrency trades for users.

In 2022 in the aftermath of the crypto lending crisis Voyager Digital filed for bankruptcy.

VGX is the native utility token issued by the Voyager platform. Users of the Voyager platform could earn VGX as rewards for trading on the platform and holding specific amounts of VGX in their accounts.

In 2021, the Voyager token underwent a series of token swaps and mergers, resulting in the creation of VGX 2.0. This token operates on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC20 token and significantly enhances the potential for crypto earnings by offering a generous 7% staking reward. Moreover, the VGX 2.0 token provides a dual advantage, as it both rewards and incentivizes customers for their natural activities and engagement on the platform.

All the VGX tokens were issued. The total and circulating supply of the native token of the Voyager platform is 278,482,214 VGX, with the max supply at 279,387,971 VGX.
